Float the Fire 2025

The Iron County Watershed Coalition is sponsoring their Annual Float on Saturday, August 2nd, at Fire Lake near Amasa, Michigan. All paddlers are welcome to arrive at 10:00 a.m. to launch and "Float the Fire" with other paddling enthusiasts, followed by a picnic lunch at the Miskwaagaamilwiziibi Shelter in the Bates Township Park. This year's event is in partnership with the Silent Sporters of Dickinson and Iron Counties. In previous years many have enjoyed paddling on the Paint River, followed by Ottawa Lake on 2024. All who appreciate our quiet northern lakes are encouraged to share in this experience on August 2nd, with food and music provided afterwards, compliments of Iron County Watershed Coalition.
